asensei displays your rowing stats (distance, time, spm, split time, heart rate) on-screen on our Head Up Display (HUD) when you are working out. If you have seen a problem with the information displayed it is usually down to one of two things - two apps connected to your PM5 (e.g. asensei and Ergdata) or a Bluetooth disconnection issue.
Multiple Apps Connected to PM5
Unfortunately it is not possible to have two apps connected to the PM5 at once and obtain reliable data from them both. Beware, as sometimes it may seem as if they are both working but the data is not consistent or reliable! For asensei to work correctly please ensure that Ergdata or any other app is not running at the same time and connecting to your PM5. If you use Ergdata to sync to the Concept 2 Logbook, asensei can do this for you too.
Bluetooth Disconnection
A Bluetooth disconnect can occur if you move your phone out of range of the PM5 (e.g. if you left the room for any reason), you turned off Bluetooth on your phone, or if you turned off the PM5 midway through the workout.
Less commonly we are also aware of an intermittent disconnect issue which affects the PM5 (and anything connected to it, such as asensei or any other app) where the Bluetooth connection will be lost mid-workout for no obvious reason. This is really a rare event, happening only every few thousand workouts in our experience, but the effect will be that your on-screen stats will stop updating (apart from time). asensei does automatically attempt to reconnect to the rowing machine when this happens, but note that at the time of writing many PM5s require that the firmware be updated in order to allow automatic reconnection. For more information about this see: How do I make my PM5 reconnect to asensei automatically during a workout?
