asensei will downloads workouts automatically for you so that they are ready when you come to workout. Media files are pretty big and even though we try and optimise the size of our workouts, over time this will start to occupy a decent chunk of your storage on your phone or tablet.
There are two main ways to delete storage to free up memory space- remove individual workout downloads and remove all workout downloads.
Deleting individual asensei workout downloads
You can free up storage by deleting individual workouts that have been downloaded. To do this you have to go to the Workouts list. Hit Hey asensei [+], then Workouts, then choose a program from the list that appears. The workouts that have been downloaded will have a blue bar underneath them. If you swipe left on one of those workouts you will be given the option to Remove download. You will see a warning message pop-up asking if you are sure. Removing the download will only delete the associated video and audio files, not your workout results (if you want to delete those see this article: Can I delete a workout session summary?).
Please note that if the workout you delete is one of the next few scheduled Up Next workouts then asensei will automatically download it again. This is so that you don't have to do it at the time of running the workout.
Deleting all asensei workout downloads
When you logout of the asensei app all of your pre-downloaded workouts will be deleted. When you log back in asensei will start to download the next 3 scheduled workouts immediately, there's no way to stop this it's designed to allow you to start a workout from the Up Next conversation anytime, online or offline. However if you have a large number of downloaded workouts this is the best way to clear out the storage quickly.
Before you logout we recommend that you ensure you are on the latest version of the asensei app since versions older than 1.17.0 will lose some of your goal-setting data when you logout too. Version 1.17.0 and higher will backup and maintain your goal setting data across devices and logins.
Future improvements to storage management
We have plans that will allow for even more control of your storage memory, but if there is something you'd like to see us do please tell us at support@asensei.com.
